On 18 November, 2025, the AIoTwin team from UNIZG-FER held a tutorial session on the topic of “Orchestrating Hierarchical Federated Learning Pipelines with AIoTwin Middleware” at the 15th International Conference on the Internet of Things (IoT 2025).
The tutorial introduced Hierarchical Federated Learning (HFL) for the computing continuum and our extension for the Flower framework to support HFL. In addition, participants had a chance to explore and use in practice the AIoTwin middleware components for scalable orchestration of HFL pipelines across heterogeneous edge–fog–cloud infrastructures.
