We invite you to join our upcoming tutorial session on the topic of “Orchestrating Hierarchical Federated Learning Pipelines with AIoTwin Middleware” at The 15th International Conference on the Internet of Things, held from November 19th to 21st in Vienna, Austria.
About the tutorial
This hands-on tutorial introduces Hierarchical Federated Learning (HFL) across the computing continuum. Participants will:
- Learn the basics of Federated Learning (FL) and its extension to HFL
- Gain hands-on experience with the Flower framework for FL
- Explore AIoTwin Middleware for scalable orchestration of HFL pipelines across heterogeneous edge–fog–cloud infrastructures
Prerequisites for the tutorial participation
- Basic Python knowledge
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts (helpful, not mandatory)
- Laptop with terminal for SSH + Postman installed
What you’ll gain
- Practical experience with FL and HFL pipeline deployment
- Knowledge of orchestration, resource management, and runtime reconfiguration
- Access to distributed clusters (VMs & K3s nodes)
You can find the hands-on instructions at our GitHub:
